Collaborative installation/performance with Tim Feeney, for the Dog Star Orchestra 20th annual festival, Automata, Los Angeles, June 20-23, 2024.

This piece was also installed at Highways in Santa Monica, January 31-March 16, 2025.

Six-channel audio, using transducers driving the glass in the gallery windows and doorway, using recordings of the 110 Freeway at Avenue 43, and a stream at Millard Canyon Falls in the Angeles Forest.

Two hanging collages made from torn watercolor paper, enlarging and abstracting individual pixels from two photographs taken at these locations.

Once, for thirty minutes, a live performance moving audible “pixels” around the gallery courtyard, via small speakers loaded with sounds abstracted from those in the windows.

The installation ran for 4 days in the front windows of Automata. On the final day of the project, we created a live performance where we moved audible “pixels” around the courtyard outside the gallery, via small speakers loaded with sounds abstracted from those in the ongoing installation.

Video from where the traffic audio recordings were taken along the CA 110 Southbound freeway in Highland Park, Los Angeles.

Video from where the river audio recordings were taken in the Angeles Crest National Forest on the Spitzer Falls trail. Record rainfalls in the winter of 2023 and spring of 2024 caused the small creeks to swell with water.
